Joanna Lawn 2009 season update |
This year 2009 has been a great year so far. Training for IRONMAN is a task in itself.
However, doing 3 major IM events takes a lot of commitment and discipline. So far this year has been extremely successful :- 2nd Ironman Taupo New Zealand 2009. While Joanne is disappointed that she did not win her 7th title she is still very proud of her 2nd place finish. Joanne said that did her best on the day and came up short. So Joanne has won six consecutive titles at Taupo. In talking about the event Joanne said ' I love the Town of Taupo, i love the people and I love the race. It is great to see how enormous this event has become. I am proud to be a part of the history and also proud to be a Kiwi '.
- Joanne has secured her slot in the Kona Ironman World Championdhip to be held in Hawaii during October 2009.
- 2nd Quelle Challenge Roth. Broke 9 hours barrier. PR bike ride 4:52:48.
Throughout the year you guys have supported me to getting to the start line with the best equipment and nutrition, a major plus over my competition. I believe you guys are the best in each specific area and I say thank you so much again, for believing and supporting me throughout my career thus far.
Getting to Hawaii fresh and healthy is more important than the race itself. The good news is that My training has been so far amazing. I am feeling strong, focus and positive about a good day.
